Been coming here for 3 decades. They used to be down the block but moved to the current location because of the train station being built in Chinatown. I usually go with the #1 Ham Combination special, best banh mi ever! The owner is a really sweet and nice lady. Highly recommend this spot!

I grew up eating their banh mi sandwiches. I say that because their location was where the current Muni metro Chinatown station is. Their sandwiches always hit home for me because of their flavor and taste, plus they add the right amount of filling and are always warm. The biggest thing for me is the consistency of their sandwiches and people. Whenever I have one of there sandwiches, it brings me back to my childhood in Chinatown with my late mom. Good food brings lovely, happy memories.

The Vietnamese sandwich is always good. This is where I had my first Vietnamese sandwich in 1985 when their location is 2 blocks away on Stockton. The old location is now a metro station. The combo and bbq pork sandwich are my go-to sandwiches. The bbq beef and rice in a pre-packaged container is good as well. the bad: no parking except in the portsmouth garage which is about 3 blocks away.

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I went in a few weeks ago after taking the new central subway to Chinatown. Decided to pop in here to pick up a banh mi & banh cuon plate for dinner. The staff was extremely nice and answered any questions I had. I ordered the combo banh mi. It was delicious. Also all the banh mi's range from $6-6.50, probably one of the cheapest in the city. This place has a great ratio of meat to veggies in a banh mi.
